Countdown Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of Countdown, and act as the end user licence agreement for the app. By using the app or buying Countdown Pro, you agree to these terms.

Service

Countdown provides tools to keep events you are counting down to or up from, to dress them with colours, backdrops and icons, to place them on your Home Screen and Lock Screen as widgets, to remind you as each one approaches, to keep dated backups of your events, and to synchronize them through iCloud. The app is a personal organiser and does not provide calendar hosting, messaging, or any service that acts on your behalf.

What Is Free

Keeping events is free, and there is no limit on how many you may keep. Every widget size and family, all reminders, iCloud sync, and backup and restore are free, and are intended to stay free. Countdown Pro sells decoration — additional backdrops, drawn icon sets, and advanced widget finishes — not the ability to count the days.

Countdown Pro

Countdown Pro is offered as monthly and yearly auto-renewable subscriptions, and as a one-time lifetime purchase.

Subscriptions are billed through your Apple Account unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. New subscribers may be offered a 7-day free trial on the yearly SKU; if a trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you buy a subscription.

Prices, trials, taxes, and availability may vary by region and are shown by the App Store before purchase. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings. Restore Purchases reconnects eligible purchases for the current Apple Account.

Decorations You Have Applied

A Pro decoration that you applied to an event while your subscription was active keeps rendering on that event after the subscription ends. Cancelling stops new Pro decorations from being applied and stops future drops from being available to you; it does not strip the ones already in use, and it never affects your events, reminders, widgets, or data.

This applies to decorations recorded as applied while entitled. A lifetime purchase includes every drop that ships.

Your Content

You are responsible for the events, titles, and notes you create. Do not use the app to store or distribute content you do not have the right to use.

Reminders

Reminders are iOS local notifications scheduled on your device. Their delivery depends on iOS, on your notification permissions and Focus settings, and on the device being available — and iOS limits how many notifications an app may have pending at once, so the app schedules a rolling window rather than every future reminder. Reminders are a convenience, not a guaranteed delivery service, and should not be relied on for anything safety-critical, medical, legal, or financial.

Dates And Time Zones

All-day events are stored as calendar days rather than instants, so a birthday stays on its own day wherever your phone is. Timed events are stored as instants and shift with the time zone, as they should. Day counts are calculated on your device from your current calendar settings.

Backups And Data

The app keeps dated backup snapshots on your device so a failed database can be recovered. These are a safety net, not an archive service: they live on the device, are pruned over time, and are lost if the app is deleted. iCloud sync is provided by Apple and depends on your Apple Account and iCloud settings. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.

Acceptable Use

Do not use the app to infringe the rights of others, or to attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or misuse the app or its purchase mechanisms.

Availability

Countdown is provided as available. Features may change, be interrupted, or be discontinued. Individual backdrops or icons may be retired from the catalog; an event dressed in a retired decoration continues to render, falling back to its own colour if the decoration can no longer be drawn.

Limitation Of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the app owner is not liable for a reminder that does not arrive or arrives late, for data loss, for indirect damages, or for decisions made from the app's features.

Apple Terms

If you purchased through the App Store, Apple's standard purchase, refund, and subscription rules apply. Apple may provide purchase management, cancellation, and refund flows through your Apple Account. This agreement is between you and the app owner, not Apple; Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, and is a third-party beneficiary of these terms with the right to enforce them against you.

Changes

We may update these terms as the app changes. The latest version will be available from the app and from the public Terms of Service URL used for distribution.
