Using the app

What is the “window”?

The dark panel on the Today screen is your day. The empty space above the waterline is how much you can still eat. Logging a meal raises the water; logging exercise widens the window. The idea is that you can read your day without reading a number.

How does photo recognition work?

Point the camera at your plate, or pick a photo from your library. The image is sent to a vision model that returns the dish, an estimated portion, calories, and a protein/carb/fat split — usually in two to four seconds. If it guesses wrong, tap the item and correct it; the corrected version is saved to your food library for next time.

How accurate is it?

Treat the numbers as a good estimate, not a measurement. A photo cannot see oil, sugar or what is underneath, so a dish can be off in either direction. It is accurate enough to show a trend over weeks, which is what the app is built for. It is not a medical device and does not give medical advice.

Does it connect to Apple Health?

Not currently. The Health sync row in Settings shows “not connected” because there is no HealthKit integration yet.

Does it sync between my devices?

Yes, through your own iCloud account. Sign in to the same Apple Account on both devices and make sure iCloud Drive is on. Nothing goes through a server we run, and we cannot read your records.

How do I export my data?

Me › Export all data › CSV. Exporting is a Pro feature.

Free and Pro

What do I get for free?

Three photo recognitions in total — enough to see how well it reads your plate — plus all of the core logging: the window, meals, exercise and weight, with full history, trends and the month calendar. Manual entry is unlimited.

What does Pro add?

Pricing and the free trial

Pro is offered as a monthly or a yearly subscription; the exact price for your region is shown on the subscription screen before you confirm. The yearly plan starts with a 7-day free trial. Cancel during the trial and you are not charged.

How do I cancel?

Open iOS Settings › your name › Subscriptions, choose DailyCalorie, then Cancel Subscription. You keep Pro until the end of the period you already paid for. Cancelling never deletes your records — you return to the free tier, with whatever free recognitions you have left, and your history, trends and everything you logged are still there.

I already paid but the app shows Free

Open the subscription screen and tap Restore purchases, and check you are signed in with the same Apple Account used for the purchase. If it still does not unlock, email us and mention the Apple Account region and roughly when you bought it.

Refunds

All purchases are handled by Apple, so refunds go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue them ourselves, but tell us what went wrong and we will try to fix it.

Language

The interface is available in 10 languages: English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, German, French, Italian, Portuguese and Thai. It follows your device language on first launch, and you can change it any time in Me › Settings › Language. System dialogs — camera permission, App Store purchase — follow iOS’s own language setting instead, and only change after you restart the app.

If you would like the interface in another language, say so by email; it helps us decide what to translate next.
